Signs Your BFT Keypad & Intercom Repair Is Failing

• Keypad works fine in the morning but not after the sun has been on it. The membrane or the solder joints on the keypad PCB are expanding with heat. The safe DIY checks are simple: confirm the keypad has power at the board, check the breaker that feeds the gate circuit, and look for a visible crack in the keypad housing where water has gotten in. What a homeowner should not attempt is opening a BFT control board enclosure and loosening terminals. The gate motor and its capacitor discharge circuit can hold voltage after the breaker is off, and the wrong probe on the wrong terminal turns a $200 keypad job into a $900 board replacement.
